Sergio Perez picks up where he left off in Baku going fastest in practice 1

Sergio Perez went fastest in the first pracitce session of the weekend in Baku.

The first session of the weekend got underway in Baku with Sergio Perez going fastest picking up where he left off in Monaco.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc went second fastest just 0.127s behind Perez. Verstappen came 3rd 0.334s slower than his teammate Perez but it wasn't clean sailing for the Dutchman who seemed to have problems with his DRS flap which was bouncing in the wind and caught the eye of teams who are reportedly wanting an investigation into the issue.

Speaking of bouncing a lot of teams look to be struggling with bouncing especially down the 2.2km straight. Mercedes and Ferrari are fighting with the bouncing a lot with Lewis Hamilton saying he cannot see the pitlane entry line down the straight with the bouncing affecting him that bad.

A disappointing session for Mick Schumacher and Nicholas Latifi as the pair only got a handful of laps in practice 1. Schumacher with a water leak that was visible on the replay where the water was spilling out of the car and over the sidepod of the Haas. Latifi has a suspected engine problem stopping out on track early on in the session.
