Portugal GP - Qualifying: Valtteri Bottas gets pole by 0.007 seconds over Lewis Hamilton.

Valtteri Bottas got the 17th pole position of his career by 0.007 seconds over his team mate, Lewis Hamilton (P2), as Max Verstappen's initial fast lap got deleted. The Dutch still managed to get P3 in windy conditions, setting a lap 0.398 seconds slower than Valtteri Bottas's. Sergio Perez in P4, 0.144 seconds behind his Red Bull team mate. A strong qualifying session for Carlos Sainz in P5, and Esteban Ocon in P6. Lando Norris got himself up to P7, despite tricky start on Friday. Completing the Top 10, Charles Leclerc in P8, Pierre Gasly in P9 and Sebastian Vettel in P10.


Eliminated in Q2: George Russell (P11), Antonio Giovinazzi (P12), Fernando Alonso (P13), Yuki Tsunoda (P14) and Kimi Raikkonen (P15). Lewis Hamilton set a 1:17.968 on the medium compound, the fastest lap of the Portugal GP weekend. Sebastian Vettel got through to Q3 for the first time since Britain 2020.


Eliminated in Q1: Daniel Ricciardo (P16), Lance Stroll (P17), Nicholas Latifi (P18), Mick Schumacher (P19) and Nikita Mazepin (P20). A very strong Q1 appearance for Lando Norris, as he managed to set a 1:18.794, placing his McLaren in P2, unlike his team mate, Daniel Ricciardo (P16), who didn't set a quick enough lap to get through to Q2.
