The 2 riders battled throughout nearly the whole race and it went down to the final corner on the last lap which saw Francesco Bagnaia take his victory.
It was a weekend to forget for Fabio Quartararo as he had to serve 2 long lap penalties. The first was due to a lap 1 crash involving himself Miguel oliveria and Marco Bezzecchi and the the second was due to having run over the outside white line as he rejoined the track.
Enea Bastanini tried to make his return this weekend but withdrew on Saturday morning due to ongoing pain.
Dani Pedrosa made his MotoGP return this weekend as a KTM wildcard rider and it's safe to say he enjoyed himself finishing P7 overall.
Joan Mir, Last weeks race winner Alex Rins and Jonathan Zarco were the amongst the retirements while Maverick Vinales chain broke on the final lap.
A strong weekend now sees a new championship leader Bagnaia on 87 points with 2 wins to his name this season, Bezzecchi has dropped to P2 on 65 and its KTM's Brad binder in P3 on 62 points.
The riders head to France for the next race and Bagnaia will be looking to increase his championship lead but will anyone be able to challenge him?
