Lance Stroll will drive in the Bahrain Grand Prix

Aston Martin have announced that Lance Stroll will race in the season opener in Bahrain this weekend.

Lance Stroll was injured during pre-season training. Today he confirmed that he had broken his wrist after lot of speculation over his injuries. Some rumours suggested that he even broke both wrists. Over the week the Canadian had pin inserted in his broken wrist by famed MotoGP doctor Xavier Mir in Barcelona.


Aston Martin announced on Sunday after pre-season testing that if needed reserve driver Felipe Drugovich would take his place meaning that he would have made his Formula 1 debut.


Stroll did go through training in the sim back at the Aston Martin base while pre-season testing was happening. The Canadian said the team turned up the steering force on the seem to test if his wrist was up to racing. Stroll said that he can drive with his broken wrist and his other hand is also "banged up" so he will more than likely not be competing to the best of his ability.

Aston Martin is predicted to be the fourth fastest team going into the season open in Bahrain with Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari admiting that they expecting Aston Martin to maybe even challenging them.


Meanwhile teammate Fernando Alonso has revealed that he drove with a broken bones in his hand in 2022. The Spaniards injury came after he crashed heavily during qualifying at the Melbourne circuit. The onboard footage showed that Alonso did hurt his hands but nothing ever came of it until he was talking to the media in Bahrain.
