Italian GP 2022 - FP1: 1-2 for Ferrari at their home Grand Prix, Mercedes follows
Charles Leclerc lead a Ferrari 1-2 at the opening practice session in Italy, followed by teammate, Carlos Sainz, in P2, and George Russell in P3.

Following the news of the passing of England's Queen Elisabeth II, Friday morning saw Charles Leclerc top the timesheets at FP1, followed by Carlos Sainz in P2 and George Russell in P3.
Lewis Hamilton secured a 3-4 Mercedes finish, with the team showing very decent pace. Max Vertsappen in P5, followed by the two Alpines, Esteban Ocon in P6 and Fernando Alonso in P7.
Yuki Tsunoda finished in P8, followed by Valtteri Bottas in P9 and Daniel Ricciardo in P10.
Outside the top 10, two reserve drivers participated in the Italian GP's first practice session, with Antonio Giovinazzi (P18) subbing for Alfa Romeo's Zhou Guanyu, and Nyck de Vries doing the same for Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel.
