French GP - Friday Roundup

The French GP kicked off today with FP1 and FP2, so let's see how things went in Friday's practice sessions at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

FP1: Valtteri Bottas led a 1-2 for Mercedes, marking a 1:33.448, 0.335 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton, with Max Verstappen in P3. Sergio Perez in P4, just a tenth ahead of Esteban Ocon in 5th with his team mate, Fernando Alonso in 7th, splitted by Daniel Ricciardo in P6. Completing the Top 10, Pierre Gasly in P8, followed by Lando Norris in P9 and Yuki Tsunoda in P10.

Outside the Top 10, Charles Leclerc (P11) seemed to be struggling in his SF-21, while his Ferrari team mate, Carlos Sainz (P16), suffered a Turn 2 spin, which ruined his tyres and didn't allow him to set a faster lap.

It was an eventful session, with Mick Schumacher spinning within the first minute of the session at Turn 3, and slightly touching the wall, and Sebastian Vettel also spinning backwards at Turn 11. Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Kimi Raikkonen, Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas also had off-track moments at Turn 2, while Yuki Tsunoda also spun at Turn 15.

Another great session for Alpine, with Fernando Alonso in P4 and Esteban Ocon in P6, splitted by Charles Leclerc in P5, with his team mate, Carlos Sainz, in P8. Completing the Top 10, Pierre Gasly in P7, Kimi Raikkonen in P9 and Lando Norris in P10.
