French GP 2022 - FP3: Verstappen on top ahead of Qualifying, Ferrari follow

Max Verstappen finished on top, on the last practice session of the French GP weekend, followed by the two Ferraris, with Carlos Sainz leading Charles Leclerc.

With temperatures very similar to yesterday, and F1 comparing this weekend's conditions to the ones at the 2016 Malaysian Grand Prix, it was another day in the scorching European heat wave.

Saturday morning found Max Verstappen topping the timesheets, followed by Carlos Sainz in P2 and Charles Leclerc in P3.

Despite still having porpoising issues on the back straight, both Mercedes boys showed some serious pace, ahead of this afternoon's Qualifying, with Lewis Hamilton in P4 and George Russell in P6, splitted by Sergio Perez, whose car problems are yet to be resolved.

Fernando Alonso finished in P7, ahead of surprise Alex Albon in P8, with Lando Norris in P9 and Yuki Tsunoda in P10, completing the top 10.

Two notes: Firstly, both Williams drivers gotten themselves up in some really good positions, with Alex Albon in the top 10 and Nicholas Latifi in P12, finally delivering some positive elements for the British team

Secondly, Carlos Sainz is set to start tomorrow's French GP from the back of the grid, as Ferrari went through with additional PU element changes, ahead of the race. Kevin Magnussen will also start from the last row of the grid, with Haas mounting a new PU on the Dane's car.
