Emilia Romagna GP - Qualifying: Lewis Hamilton to take 99th pole of his career.
Lewis Hamilton takes the 99th pole position of his career in Imola, followed by the two Red Bull drivers, Sergio Perez in P2 (+0.035) and Max Verstappen in P3 (+0.087). Charles Leclerc in P4, in front of Pierre Gasly (P5), followed by the two McLarens, Daniel Ricciardo (P6) and Lando Norris (P7). Completing the top 10, Valtteri Bottas in P8, Esteban Ocon in P9 and Lance Stroll in P10.
Lando Norris had a brilliant qualifying session, as he was second fastest in Q2, marking a 1:14.718 on the soft compound, just 0.002 seconds behind Sergio Perez, and almost took P2 again in Q3, but his lap was deleted as he exceeded track limits.
On the 8th minute of Q1, Yuki Tsunoda (P20) spinned his Alpha Tauri at Variante Alta, crashing it into the barriers, and bringing the red flag out, therefore he didn't get to set a fast lap. Also eliminated in Q1: Kimi Raikkonen (P16), Antonio Giovinazzi (P17), Mick Schumacher (P18) and Nikita Mazepin (P19).
Significantly improved performance by Williams, as both drivers made it into Q2, with Nicholas Latifi in P11 and George Russell in P14 for that session. The first double Q2 appearance for Williams since Hungary 2020.
Eliminated in Q2: Carlos Sainz (P11), George Russell (P12), Sebastian Vettel (P13), Nicholas Latifi (P14) and Fernando Alonso (P15).
