Canadian GP 2022 - FP3: Alonso on top in the wet, Gasly and Vettel follow
Fernando Alonso topped the final -and wet- practice session of the weekend, followed by Pierre Gasly in P2 and Sebastian Vettel in P3.

Heavy rain hit the track a while before the start of FP3, continuing throughout the session, so all laps in the first runs were completed in using the wet Pirelli compound. With 15 minutes remaining, most drivers started changing to intermediates, as the conditions got better.
A data gathering session, mainly for Pirelli, as the teams didn't manage to get much of it, because of the rain. Fernando Alonso placed his Alpine on top of the timesheets, lapping a 1:33.836 on the intermediate tyre, followed by Pierre Gasly in P2 and Sebastian Vettel in P3, also on inters.
A very positive outcome for Alpine, with Esteban Ocon in P4, followed by the two McLarens, with Daniel Ricciardo in P5, leading Lando Norris in P6.
Completing the top 10, George Russell in P7, Sergio Perez in P8, Max Verstappen in P9 and Carlos Sainz in P10.
It was confirmed, mid-way through the session, that Charles Leclerc will take an additional penalty, as he switched to an all new PU, so he will start tomorrow's Canadian GP from the back of the grid. Leclerc didn't put in any laps during FP3, as Ferrari already know that he'll start tomorro's race from P20.
Carlos Sainz also got a new ICE, no penalties for him though, as it's his third component of the season, the last "penalty-free" ICE for this year.
