Canadian GP 2022 - FP2: Verstappen tops Friday, 2-3 for Ferrari

Friday ended with Max Verstappen on top, followed by Charles Leclerc in P2 and Carlos Sainz in P3.

Weather forecast had predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms for FP2, but that never came. Conditions were very similar to FP1, with dark clouds making their appearnce towards the end of the session.

Max Verstappen placed his Red Bull on the top of the timesheets and went fastest overall in both practice sessions today, clocking a 1:14.127 in FP2. Charles Leclerc in P2, just 0.081 sec behind, followed by his teammate, Carlos Sainz, in P3.

Very impressively, Sebastian Vettel finished in P4, followed by Fernando Alonso in P5 and Pierre Gasly in P6.

Still struggling with porpoising, and his teammate saying "the car is undriveable", George Russell managed to place his Mercedes in P7, followed by the McLaren pair, with Lando Norris in P8, leading Daniel Ricciardo in P9, and Esteban Ocon in P10.

Some drivers have been summoned by the steards for "allegedly failing to follow the RD's instructions in relation to turn 14", including Sebastian Vettel, Pierre Gasly and Lance Stroll.

Outside the top 10, Sergio Perez seemed to not be able to match Verstappen's pace, and only managed to climb up to P11. Valtteri Bottas missed the entire session and never got to log any laps, due to some electrical issue.
