BREAKING: Red Bull and Aston Martin found to have breached the cost cap

Red Bull and Aston Martin have been found to have breached the cost cap rules the FIA has announced.

The FIA have just announced that Red Bull and Aston Martin have found to have broken the cost cap rules.

Red Bull have been found to have breached the cost cap in two ways. The team have broken the cost cap by a minor overspend (less than 5%). They have also breached cost cap proceedings which could land them with a heavier penalty.

Aston Martin on the other hand have breached the proceedings of the cost cap meaning that it is likely they face a lighter penalty than Red Bull.

The FIA has many option on how to penalise the two teams. Such penalties include public reprimand, deduction of drivers and constructors championship points, suspension from one or more stages of a competition or of a competition, excluding for the avoidance of doubt the race itself, limitation on ability to conduct aerodynamic or other testing and/or reduction of the cost cap.
