Belgian GP 2022 - FP3: Red Bull 1-2 ahead of Qualifying, gravel trip for Leclerc

The last practice session of the Belgian GP weekend is over, with Sergio Perez on top, followed by Max Verstappen in P2 and Carlos Sainz in P3.

Cloudy skies but not rain, that was the forecast for FP3, with all drivers completing their fastest runs on the soft tyre.

Max Verstappen was noted by the stewards for allegedly failing to slow under yellow flags in T17, but no further action was taken. With 10 minutes left on the clock, Charles Leclerc took a brief trip through the gravel at T12, slightly damaging the car, but was able to get the car running and safely return back to the pits. The session was red flagged and resumed with 4 minutes remaining.

Sergio Perez lead a Red Bull 1-2 at the last practice session in Belgium, right ahead of Max Verstappen in P2 and Carlos Sainz in P3.

Lando Norris placed his Red Bull in P4, followed by Fernando Alonso in P5 and George Russell in P6.

Charles Leclerc, who is set to receive a back-of-the-grid penalty, due to the all-new PU that Ferrari mounted on his SF-75, ended Saturday morning in P7, just ahead of Sebastian Vettel in P8, who, even though managed to place his Aston Martin in the top 10, reported some PU issues at the end of the session, but was able to bring the car home.

Completing the top 10, it was Esteban Ocon in P9 and Pierre Gasly in P10.

Outside the top 10, Haas detected some sort of problem with the sensor on Mick Schumacher's car in the beginning of FP3, forcing him to spend most of the session in the garage, in order for the team to resolve the issue.

Nicholas Latifi managed to se the fastest time around the first sector in a Williams, but, as much as that sounds phenomenal, the Canadian driver was probably doing some low fuel laps.
