Belgian GP 2022 - Qualifying: Verstappen on pole, Sainz to start race from P1
Max Verstappen topped this weekend's Belgian GP Qualifying, followed by Carlos Sainz in P2 and Sergio Perez in P3.

Q1: A few drivers reported some light drops of rain throughout the first leg of Qualifying, which didn't seem too concerning for the teams. Eliminated in Q1: Sebastian Vettel (P16), Nicholas Latifi (P17), Kevin Magnussen (P18), Yuki Tsunoda (P19) and Valtteri Bottas (P20).
Q2: Daniel Ricciardo didn't complete any fast laps during the drivers' first outing, and wasn't able to make the tow work in the second phase of Q2. Eliminated in Q2: Daniel Ricciardo (P11), Pierre Gasly (P12), Zhou Guanyu (P13), Lance Stroll (P14) and Mick Schumacher (P15).
Q3: No car could beat Max Verstappen, who cleared 0.632 sec ahead of Carlos Sainz, who, oddly enough, will start the Belgian GP from pole position.
Max Verstappen finished Saturday on top of the timesheets, ahead of Carlos Sainz in P2 and Sergio Perez in P3.
Charles Leclerc in P4, followed by Esteban Ocon in P5 and Fernando Alonso in P6. It was a bit of a shocker for Lewis Hamilton, who, despite finishing 7th, was startled when his mechanic told him he was 1.8 sec off Max Verstappen.
Completing the top 10, George Russell was just 0.3 sec away from his teammate, and placed his Mercedes in P8, ahead of Alex Albon in P9 and Lando Norris in P10.
Of course, the final starting grid will look nothing like the classification below, since 7 drivers have received PU-related penalties.
