Bahrain GP - Qualifying: Max Verstappen takes first pole of the season.
The first qualifying session of the season is done, with Max Verstappen on pole, followed by Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
The Dutch managed to mark a 1:28.997, with three purple sectors, leaving Lewis Hamilton 0.388 behind him. Charles Leclerc placed his Ferrari on P4, followed by a very strong-looking Pierre Gasly and the two McLarens, Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris. With the top 7 being within less than just one second, we can definetely say the midfield looks very strong this season. Completing the top 10, we have Carlos Sainz in 8th, Fernando Alonso in 9th and Lance Stroll in 10th.
Esteban Ocon (P16) and Sebastian Vettel (P18) didn't manage to set a fast lap during Q1, due to yellow flags in sector 1 due to Nikita Mazepin's spin (P20) and sector 2 due to Carlos Sainz's engine problem. Also eliminated in Q1: Nicholas Latifi (P17) and Mick Schumacher (P19).
Eliminated in Q2: Sergio Perez (P11), Antonio Giovinazzi (P12), Yuki Tsunoda (P13), Kimi Raikkonen (P14) and George Russell (P15).
