Azerbaijan GP - FP3: Perez back on top, Lerlerc still very close

Sergio Perez topped the timesheets of the last practice session of the weekend, followed by Charles Leclerc in P2 and Max Verstappen in P3.

The session was delayed by 15 minutes, due to some barrier repairs after a big crash on the last lap of the F2 sprint race.

The FIA has confirmed that qualifyig will start 15 minutes later than scheduled, as Article 39 of the Sporting Regulaations states that "a two-hour gap must be in place for the end of FP3 and the start of Qualifying".

Most drivers went out on track using the soft compound, except for the AlphaTauri pair, who did their first laps on the hard tyre, as well as McLaren's Daniel Ricciardo, who preferred Pirelli's C4 medium tyre for the start of the session.

Perez placed his Red Bull on top once again, just like he did yesterday morning in FP1, clocking a 1:43.170 on the soft compound. Leclerc followed, just 0.070 sec behind, proving once again how close Red Bull and Ferrari really are.

Max Verstappen in P3, who complained about traffic at the end of the session, followed by Carlos Sainz in P4.

A very surprising entry in the top 10 are the two McLaren drivers, with Lando Norris in P5 and Daniel Ricciardo in P6, it's the first time this weekend, that both McLaren cars are so high up the top 10. Huge gap between the top 4 and the rest of the field, as Norris was 0.822 sec slower than Sainz.

Pierre Gasly found himself in P7, a very impressive position, having in mind he completed his fastest lap on the hard tyre. Completing the top 10, George Russell in P8, followed by Esteban Ocon in P9 and Sebastian Vettel in P10.

See you in less than two hours for the Azerbaijan GP Qualifying.
