History
The first Qatar race was held in the 2021 season which saw Lewis Hamilton take victory as the title fight that season heated up and set up for a thrilling end to the season in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. The track has featured on the MotoGP calendar for a long time and has now added F1 to its collection. Qatar signed a 10 year deal with F1 which will start from the 2023 season until 2033. The first Grand Prix also saw Spaniard Fernando Alonso take his first podium since the 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix as well as the second podium for Alpine in 2021.
